[As the feed begins, it's probably not difficult to tell that Eley is in another of his thoughtful moods, and is likely about to pose a question to the Lucetians once again. For even though the Spirit had learned of the concept of 'fun', there was still something that seemed to run alongside this that he hadn't quite found an understanding for. One might call it a sense of humour.]
What exactly does it mean to tell a 'joke'? And how can you tell the difference between one that is good and one that is bad?
[Action]
[Another Christmas had passed, embarrassing moments exchanged but also good, positive moments as well. Though Eley did not usually have much of a sense of time, other than the seasons coming and going, these human holidays always seemed to make the time pass much faster for him, he was finding.
That didn't mean that he wanted time to pass that quickly, however, and now Eley was trying to find a moment to sit and relax. This time, he found himself in the forest, wondering how much of it might have changed since he'd arrived after all the fighting and experiments... Saleh had shown him how to build a bonfire and despite his instinctive wariness of the fire, there had been something strangely relaxing about staring into the gently flickering flames. He didn't have Saleh's magic to make the fire with, but he could at least practice the construction. So anyone who's passing through might find him searching for large stones and tinder, or wander past a half-constructed stone circle that the Spirit had left nearby.]

From what I am aware, a joke is a statement or phrase that is said with the sole purpose of amusement. Whether the joke is good or bad, I believe, varies depending on your own personal sense of humour.
Why do you ask?
[And that was something that was apparently unique to each person... how did anyone ever find the right statement in that case?]
Hmm... while I have taken part in activities said to be 'fun' and learned to enjoy myself to some extent, I felt as though there was still something missing. Humans have complicated social interactions, do they not? Perhaps this sense of humour is what I am currently lacking.
Re: [Video]
This is an adequate assessment as Vulcans take pleasure in things other than 'jokes'.
I am not sure if I understand how humour can be 'dry'. What then is 'wet' humour?
Re: [Video]
I do not believe there is such a thing as wet humour... [Though Spock will have to research it more.]

[She get's that reaction a lot...]
[There were a lot of things he still didn't 'get' exactly after all, though he had come a long way since he'd first arrived here.]
Perhaps you can provide an example of something you might say?
[Give her a moment...a long moment before she gives up. It's hard to come up with a joke under pressure!]
Everything I can think of would relate to my world.
Since I am not well versed in the ways of humans, I would say that is understandable.
I suppose in that case a joke would be more effective when related to something you are familiar with, yes? Is there no such thing as a universally accepted joke?
Oh, there are! I could think of some knock knock jokes, but they're kinda cheesy...

A joke is...well, sometimes it's a question you ask, and then you give the answer to it and it's something funny, or sometimes it's a story and the ending is funny. A good one makes you laugh, and a bad one makes you want to punch whoever told it.

[Eley has to think over that explanation for a moment. He didn't recall ever laughing at anything... then again, he also didn't recall ever wanting to punch someone for something they said. Sigh, maybe he was more clueless than he had first thought.]
Then if something is funny, you should laugh?
no subject
Well, yeah, that's usually how it goes. But it's not like you think to yourself, "Hey, that was funny. I should be laughing now." You just do it. I mean, unless you want to force a pity laugh.
no subject
I am not sure if I would even know how to force such a laugh. [Trying to imitate the sound did sound a little foolish after all.] Then it is a natural occurrence... an instinctive reaction. It seems it may be more integral to human nature than I first thought.

Like having a house, and someone to talk to. Not having to escort dead people to their next destination. Tsuzuki was grateful for that, even though he missed his friends. And because he missed his friends, he tended to seek out the friends he had made in Luceti, like Eleytheria. He didn't know what to make of the collection of rocks and twigs, however.]
Stones? Why do you want stones?
[action]
I wanted to attempt to construct a bonfire. The stones help to contain the fire, yes?
Unfortunately, I do not have the means to light the fire. Still, I thought it may be useful to practice setting the materials.
[action]
I think so. Are you going to make a big one?
[action]
[Never mind the fact that fire still made him a little wary. It was an element unfamiliar to the Spirits of Aether. As far as he was aware, none of his kind had the ability to manipulate it. Only humans had that gift.]
I recently shared the company of a friend beside one of them. I found it oddly relaxing to sit and watch the flames. Perhaps... I wished to recreate that setting.
[He looks to Tsuzuki at that, glad for the help.]
I would be honoured to sit beside you this time, if you wished to join me.
[action]
[He beams, and the change of his mood is so easily seen in his expression. Tsuzuki wants nothing more than to spend time with him.]
I would love that, Eley. Thank you for inviting me.
[action]
Well, that's what friends are for!]
Well, jokes are things you tell people to make 'em laugh. There's tons of different kinds, but as far as good or bad ones go, I think that depends on your sense of humor! Everyone's gonna have different tastes.
[Eley knows that he's found some things amusing before. He did have a playful side too, despite perhaps not showing it too often. Yet the Spirit couldn't recall ever laughing before.]
I do not think I have ever heard of seen anything that as caused me to laugh. Does that mean I do not have such a sense?
[His smile widens, all in an attempt to cheer Eley on.]
You know you've found something funny when your laughter starts to bubble inside of you, and you just can't hold back anymore.
At Ventus' explanation, Eley places a hand on his stomach, as if trying to recall that feeling.]
I cannot remember ever having that sensation in the past. May I ask... what do you find funny?
[He cups his chin in his hand, taking a few seconds to think it over.]
For starters, there's the kinda laughter you get when somebody, say, trips and falls in a really weird way, and it's funny because you'd hate to be in their shoes. Then there's the kinda humor where somebody says something really clever or ironic, maybe even unexpected, and you laugh because you never thought about it before, or maybe you relate in some way. That's sorta where jokes come in.
Then there's laughter when you're just having a good time with the people you care about. Sometimes you're just so happy you can't help yourself. Uh, and I'm talking about a general "you," since I know everybody's got their own experiences.
