[So with all the cold and snow that's been blowing around Luceti lately, Eley's finding that his human body isn't quite as strong as he thought it would be. Living a nomadic existence, he's been wandering the forest and the village, staying out in the cold for days (and nights) at a time, but now it seems to be taking its toll...

Anyone passing by the outskirts of the village might find the Spirit just sitting in the snow, all bundled up in all the winter clothes he'd been given for Christmas, shivering and sneezing and looking rather sorry for himself. Anyone with the power to will sense that he's pretty sick. He seems to have no energy to move and is trying to conserve it by staying in one place.

If he doesn't want the sickness to get worse though, he'd better muster up the energy to go and find some shelter somewhere!]

[Hmm? Give him a moment to focus on whoever said that... He appears rather snuffly and it might be noticeable that he has a cold just from the sound of his voice.]

Grune? Ah... I am feeling rather... unwell.

[Again: oh dear. She bends down and holds out her hand.]

If you have a cold, you should go home and rest. It's not good to be outside in the snow if you aren't feeling well.

[He hesitates a moment but... does take her hand, and tries to stand.]

I do not have a specific home to go to... I thought resting would help but... I suppose the cold has made things worse instead.

[She helps him up, giving him a perhaps surprisingly strong and steady pull.]

Yes, resting outside in the winter isn't a good thing to do. You need to stay inside to feel all better.

Why don't you come stay with me for a little while?

[Her housemates would be totally okay with a surprise house guest, right?]

[She does seem remarkably strong to Eley, but then again he also feels weak. Perhaps he'll explain it away with his illness making him feel so feeble.

Another question would be would Eley be okay with being the surprise house guest~? He seems reluctant to say yes right away but... he does need somewhere to go.]

If... you are sure it would not be too much trouble.

Oh, no, it wouldn't be any trouble at all. We'd be happy to have you.

[Carefully, she curves a steadying arm around his waist.]

[He welcomes the support though in different circumstances he would likely find this rather... awkward. As it was, he just wanted to get somewhere warm and feel better again!]

Thank you... I am sure it will not take me long to recover. I will leave as soon as I am able.

[Once she's sure he's steady, she starts walking, slowly and carefully.]

It's all right. You can take as much time as you need to.

[He walks at a slow but steady pace. His legs are weaker than he thought and now numbed from the cold. It made moving a little awkward. He was glad for the extra support, really. Perhaps surprised too. The helpful nature of others was something Eley hadn't always experienced much of, especially not firsthand.]

Are you always this... kind? [He asks, wondering.]

[She doesn't stop walking, but she does send him a puzzled look as they move along.]

Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I be kind?

[Why wouldn't anyone be kind?]

[He seems a little embarrassed now. Was that such a strange question?]

Forgive me... I have not always had pleasant dealings with humans. I have to wonder sometimes... what reason they would have to help others, if not to gain something for themselves.

Why, because it's the right thing to do. That's why lots and lots of humans help others.

[She sounds completely surprised he would think otherwise. All the humans she knows are so nice.]

Just because it is... right? There are humans who do not feel the need to be so... nice to one another though... Why would they choose to do the wrong thing? What use would it have to anyone?

[If all humans should believe that kindness was 'right', why was there so much negativity in the world? This probably wasn't the best time to get all philosophical... Eley's head was already hurting enough.]

Maybe they don't know what the right thing is. That's why they need friends to show them.

People who perform bad actions... need friends to show them the way?

[He shakes his head at that.]

It seems too simple. Humans are resistant to change... it may work for some but others would reject friendship. Perhaps... they seek their own destruction. Why else would they stray away from help?

Maybe they don't know they need help.

[She's quiet for a moment.] Or maybe they're scared to ask.

They... don't know?

I suppose I can understand the fear. I... know someone who likely feels the same way. Though surely it would be better for them to gather their courage and just... ask.

Hmm.... I think so too. But sometimes, that can be a little hard.

[She smiles at him.] So we need to be patient and help them, okay?
