[So with all the cold and snow that's been blowing around Luceti lately, Eley's finding that his human body isn't quite as strong as he thought it would be. Living a nomadic existence, he's been wandering the forest and the village, staying out in the cold for days (and nights) at a time, but now it seems to be taking its toll...

Anyone passing by the outskirts of the village might find the Spirit just sitting in the snow, all bundled up in all the winter clothes he'd been given for Christmas, shivering and sneezing and looking rather sorry for himself. Anyone with the power to will sense that he's pretty sick. He seems to have no energy to move and is trying to conserve it by staying in one place.

If he doesn't want the sickness to get worse though, he'd better muster up the energy to go and find some shelter somewhere!]

[Well... at least he got to the point. Eley knew that he wasn't well, even if he didn't fully understand what was happening exactly. He hesitates at the outstretched hand, but he feels that warmth was probably a good idea and... he didn't want to make things worse for himself. So finally he reaches out to take it and pushes himself to his feet.]

I am not familiar with illness... it seems this body comes with its own weaknesses. Lacking energy, I thought that rest would help, but I suppose the cold does not allow for good rest.

[Had Spock been able to see, he would have given Eleytheria a rather unimpressed look...

However, his concern for his friend's health outweighed any skepticism... and he promptly lead Eley to his house.]

It is not wise to sit out in the cold. You will have to take greater care while in human form. When we arrive at my home, you will take a heated shower, change into warmer clothing, and consume a hot beverage... then go to sleep.

[Eley offers little resistance as Spock starts to lead him away, but then again he's not sure if the Vulcan would have accepted any other reaction in the first place. Feeling a little chastened, the Spirit nods, a little uncertain.]

If... that is what I must do. Sleep is something else I have never had much need of in the past. It can heal?

Sleep is an imperative action in order to gain optimal health of the human body. The fact that you have not received enough of it would explain why you are not feeling well at this time...
...being in the cold is a factor that certainly does not help.

[Spock may sound severe... but that's only because he cares.

...when they near the house, Spock leads Eleytheria inside and quickly locates a blanket to wrap it around him....
He's pretty proficient for a blind guy...]

The bathroom is located at the end of the hall... please make use of its facilities and take a heated shower... I will have clothing waiting for you when you are finished.]

I should... sleep more? I see.

[That was definitely something he'd never really thought about. Sure he slept, but only when he was trying to relax. He didn't make a habit of it and preferred to stay up most of the time. He didn't want to miss the world as it passed him by after all.

He's thankful for the warm blanket that's offered to him and would take Spock's advice right away but... there is something he needs to address first.]

...how exactly do I use this 'shower'?

[Spock wished at this moment that he could properly see...]

Allow me to show you Mister Eleytheria... [Spock leads him to the bathroom and points out the basic mechanics...]

Be cautious not to make the water too hot... it is possible to burn yourself.

You must remove your clothes before entering the shower... [Spock makes his way to the door... his hands outstretched making sure he doesn't bump into anything...]

[It's enough for him to work on even despite Spock's inability to see. Good job he warned him about the temperature too or he might have hurt himself. Though really, Eley has to wonder why they would allow the water to be heated to such a temperature as to burn the occupant...]

Thank you again for your assistance... I will not be long.

[He says, waiting for the man to leave the room safely before beginning to remove his many layers of clothes and getting to grips with the shower. At least it was warmer in here...]

[Spock nods and shuts the door on the way out... and heads down the hall to prepare the guest room.

Doing this while blind is a secret known only to the Vulcans...

Regardless, when he is finished, he waits in the hall outside the bathroom for Eley.]

[It isn't long before Eley finishes his shower. At least his nose seems to be feeling less blocked... though he'll likely need more tissues because of this~

He dries himself off on a towel and wraps himself in it to keep himself decent, despite the fact Spock wouldn't be able to see anyway~ He was always aware that he was in someone else's home and wouldn't want to cause any unwanted embarrassment. He comes out to find Spock waiting for him.]

I have showered... I do feel somewhat better for it.

That is well... At the end of the hall there is a guest room... you will find an appropriate change of clothes on the bed. [No room for arguments apparently...

...This is what you get when you concern a Vulcan.]

If you are amenable, I will have chicken soup prepared for you in the kitchen... [Spock starts to make his way towards that pre-mentioned place...
And calls out behind him.]
You are free to join me when you are ready.

[Eley gives a nod of understanding... apparently not protesting with him about any of this. If he thinks it'll help, the Spirit will gladly oblige, despite being little used to being taken care of like this.

He'll make his way to the guest room to change into the clothes that have been set out for him, taking a moment to get used to the feel of them, and glad that they are both warm and dry. Then he'll head to the kitchen, taking a deep breath as the smell of the soup hits him.]

This smell... it is strangely inviting.

Indeed... [Spock is a vegetarian though... he made the soup specifically for Eley.

But being blind... it was soup from a can.

He sets down a bowl for his guest.] Has you condition improved?

[It wouldn't matter to Eley either way, he rarely ate in he first place and any opportunity to consume something that smelled good enough was a good one for him.

He sits down and stirs it leisurely with a spoon before taking a sip. Mmm.]

I expect it will take some days of rest to recover properly... however, I do feel a little more comfortable thanks to you. I am afraid I am still in pain...

Indeed. You are welcome to stay here as long as you need to.

[Spock's head whips up at that last statement.]

You are in pain? Where on your person are you experiencing pain?

I will not stay any longer than I need to but... I will thank you for the offer.

[As for the pain...]

There is a throbbing pain in my head... and my limbs also ache. It makes me feel weak... and makes it difficult to move.

[Spock's eyebrow twitches...

This would not do.]

May I take a reading of you with a medical tricorder?

[Good question. Judging by the confused look on his face and the pause before he speaks, Eley doesn't seem too sure how to answer that.]

Perhaps? What exactly is a... medical tricorder? What would it involve?

It is a handheld device used to scan an individual and take readings of inconsistencies such as ailments.

[Spock stands...waiting for Eley's word..]

[The Spirit still seems a little unsure about this...]

Will it hurt me?

Negative... it will not even touch you.

[Eley nods at that. He's still not entirely sure what to expect - technology didn't move very far in Aether when compared to other worlds - but if it wouldn't have any ill-effects he couldn't see a problem with it.]

Then you may use it whenever you are ready...

[Spock gingerly moves away and ventures to his room....

He comes back with a small hand-held device to which he presses a couple of buttons... and addresses it.]

Physiological scan... oral report. [The device beeps, and Spock holds it up towards Eley's form...
It makes an interesting buzzing sound....then a female, mechanical voice comes from the device...]

Dehydration...

Malnourished...

Vitamin Deficiency...

Sleep Deprivation...

Rhinosinusitis and acute coryza...

Pyrexia of hundred and two degrees Celsius...

Cephalalgia...

[The list goes on for awhile, but Spock's device was programmed to be thorough... so he shuts it off eventually.]

You will stay here for at least twenty-four hours... agreed?

[Eley watches... and listens with some morbid fascination. He has no idea what most of what the device says actually means and it makes him wonder if his condition is more serious than he first thought.... It does seem like a long list after all! Not only that but the Spirit seems rather interested in the idea that it can be spoken to in the first place.]

If... that is your suggestion, I will stay. Should I be concerned?

Negative... this list is a compilation of conditions that is condusive to someone who has not... been taking adequate care of themselves. I will ensure that you get the proper hydration, and rest that a human needs to live.

[Spock sets the device down, and goes to the fridge to pour Eley a glass of orange juice.... and slides it on the counter towards him.]

[It made sense, considering he hadn't been thinking much like a human. Of course he would have neglected himself. He gives a nod of understanding as he takes the glass offered to him and takes a sip of the orange juice. Something else he hadn't tried before... though it wasn't far different to the beverage he'd sampled around Christmas.

He's quiet for some time before posing perhaps a slightly odd question.]
