12 - [Action]
[It's one of those days when Eley feels like heading into the village and perusing the shops to see if he can find anything interesting. Today, he's lucky! Or so he feels anyway, for sitting on a shelf in a brightly coloured orange bottle is some substance labelled only as 'Magic Bubbles'.
Eley had become rather interested in the concept of magic from other worlds since his stay in Luceti, so naturally he found himself wondering what kind of magic could be contained in this bottle. Obviously something to do with bubbles... was it water based then? How did it work? What exactly did it do? The Spirit had to find out for himself, so he wasted no time in taking a bottle and heading outside with it.
He'll be spending the rest of the day doing the following:
First he'll end up sitting by the fountain in the plaza and unscrewing the cap to the bottle to find a strange wand attached to it... It'll take him a while to figure out exactly what the point of it is and you'll likely find him trying to look through the hole at the end or holding it up to the light to inspect the rainbow sheen of the soapy film across the gap.
Eventually he'll try waving the wand (perhaps it's like a tiny scepter?) and thus produce a stream of small bubbles. Ah, so this wand creates bubbles? Interesting! He'll try waving it some more in long sweeping motions... until it runs out.
Not realising the stuff in the bottle is what's responsible for creating the bubbles in the first place, you might find him wandering around the village shaking the wand with varying degrees of ferocity out of frustration that his new toy isn't working anymore.
Later on, he'll have finally figured it out, so you'll likely see some stray bubbles floating around and perhaps a rather easily amused Spirit trying to make new amusing shapes out of the bubbles, or trying to make a huge one... or maybe just trying to make as many as he can by trying to master how to use the wind against the wand in the most effective way possible.
Feel free to play with him! or help him out!]

Eleytheria? What are you doing?
no subject
Ah, I... am trying to figure out how this magic works. This wand created bubbles just moments ago but all of a sudden they stopped. No matter what I do they will not show.
no subject
Maybe if I had a look at it, I could help you.
no subject
[He seems a little reluctant to let it go, like someone hoarding their greatest treasure. But he hands her the bottle and the wand all the same.]
Perhaps the secret is in the bottle. That is where the wand was before.
no subject
Then she puts the wand back into the bottle, waiting for a few moments.] This is exactly how it was?

Wow, I haven't seen any of those in the store in a long time!
no subject
They have been here before? Perhaps you would know what is 'magical' about them then.
no subject
Yeah, they show up in the store every so often. I don't usually make a point of looking for them... for all I know, they may be there more often than I've noticed.
I don't think there's anything actually magical about them, though. We used to make something like them in my world out of soapy water-- you would bend a piece of wire into a hoop, dip it into the water, and then use that to blow bubbles just like those.
no subject
I had thought there was something more unexplained about them, but at least it seems simple enough to recreate them. Perhaps magic does not necessarily have to mean some force or power created by the elements or the body of a person.
[He tilts his head as he regards the bubbles more thoughtfully now, before blowing another stream and watching them float into the air.]
no subject
I don't think it really matters whether they're magical as long as they're fun, right?

Eley? I see you've found the store's bubble supply.
no subject
Helios. Yes, I... became curious about what was so apparently 'magical' about this bottle. It is certainly entertaining nonetheless.
[He pauses before looking to that box.]
Are you preparing something?
no subject
Bubbles are quite fun, I have to admit. Then you get some people who can make shapes and animals out of them! It's good for parties.
[ Speaking of which...Helios blinks and then looks down at the bundle in his arms. ] Oh! Yes. Ha! I-I got sidetracked, but yes! There's a party being held down by the lake for the summer solstice. You-you should drop by! Everyone is invited and, well, it's also Max's birthday party too. You're welcome to join us and anyone else you think might want to bring along.
no subject
[Maybe that was the magic... if you knew how to do it. The party catches his interest though, despite still not being particularly enthusiastic about social gatherings.]
Ah, I have not heard of this summer solstice. What exactly is the celebration? I would not mind attending of course, though I am ill-prepared. [Particularly for birthdays. You need presents for that right?] I am not sure if I would really... add anything to the party.
no subject
[ Helios smiles and nods, holding up his hands in a placating gesture. ] It's not about adding anything Eley! You just...come and have a good time. The Solstice is meant for new begins and back in the old days it was for harvest festivals. But nowadays it's more of a celebration of beginning anew and washing away the past occurrences. It begin Max's birthday adds other things to it, certainly, but you're under no obligation to, ah, get him a present. Saori and I are also holding a house warming party for all our new housemates. So it's just a rather big party for everyone to join in on.

She may or may not be using her filial magic to send the bubble back in his direction. Hope you don't mind a big ol' bubble colliding with your head, Eley!]
no subject
It's only then he turns to see Jane there. He doesn't look particularly annoyed though. In fact he seems rather happy to see her again.]
Ah, Jane. How did you... send this one back to me? Unless you have found your own way of creating 'magic bubbles'.
[Maybe she had the ability to create them herself, as far as he was concerned this was magic... and magic seemed to come from anywhere!]
no subject
I sent it back by doing this!
[And so, she snapped her fingers and let a soft breeze blow.
...That snap didn't do anything of course, but it made things a little more dramatic, right?]
no subject
It's his turn to look at her with a little confusion as she snaps her fingers though. He feels the soft breeze pass over him but... was that just coincidence or did that really come from her?
He knew of Kipinn and his abilities, perhaps it wasn't so far-fetched that she could do something with the wind now after all.]
You can also control the wind? Have you always been able to do that or is this something you recently acquired?
no subject
I learned from Nala too!
[She puffed up with pride. Her personality didn't mesh too well with Nala's, so to be frank she was fortunate to walk away with any magic at all.
Eley didn't have to know that part though.]

He glanced up, noting Spoke's elemental friend coming out of the shop, pushing himself up and stretching as he called out to him. ]
Elle! Over here!
no subject
Oh well, it was too late now. He gives an idle wave in response to Kirk, still clutching the bright bottle in the other hand.]
Kirk. It has been a while. [Then he notices just how hot he seems.] I hope you will not overheat in this weather. Perhaps you should stop for a drink?
no subject
It's fine. It was hotter out on the farm, growing up, but thats what happens when you grow up in a dust bowl, right?
[ He pushed off his knees and rolled his shoulders, keeping his muscles warm as sweat dripped. He swiped a hand through his growing out hair, slicking the hair back and giving the other a rough smile. ]
I'm okay, really, just need to cool down. What have you been up to?
no subject
[He's not really sure why but that surprised him. Then again... many of the greatest knights of Agkelos were once simple farm boys. Perhaps it wasn't that uncommon.
...then he realises that might have come across as offensive.]
Forgive me. I did not mean to imply that there was a problem with that.
[Ahem, let's change the subject.]
As for what I have been up to... well, I attended a 'speed dating' event recently, though I did not sign up for it myself. It was an... interesting experience.
no subject
[ Well, he says farm, but that's a really, really generous term for what it was. According to the government? Yeah. To him and most sane people? No, not really. ]
No, it's cool, I know it surprises people when I say that. I don't look like a farm boy.
Speed dating, huh? And how did that go? Meet a nice lady - or man - whichever you go for?
[ He grinned and winked at Elle. ]
