[Eley had been doing a lot of thinking lately, particularly in regard to how he should best react to conflict and dangerous situations. After much self-reflection, the Spirit had finally decided to turn to the rest of Luceti to aid him in his new desire to grow stronger in his human form, as well as to protect those he felt were important to him.

So he opens the journal, and begins to speak.]

Those who know me will also know that I have a distaste for violence. However, following recent events and the changes taking part both in the community and within myself... I have decided to open myself to the idea of combat.

What I am seeking is not to kill, but to disarm. To be able to protect both myself and others without going too far. Surely there are people here who hold knowledge of techniques in self-defense? If there is a weapon which can be used to stop an opponent without doing too much damage... I will consider it as well. Magic may also not be out of the question, though I cannot say whether or not I will be able to successfully use it.

Help me, Luceti, to not only protect myself but my friends too.

[There's a pause before he adds.]

Ah and... Kohaku. If you see this then I wish to apologise for any unusual behaviour I may have exhibited recently. If you would like the wish you gave me returned to you then I will gladly do so.

I've seen dragons in books...they look pretty, not like monsters.

[She hasn't seen the ones that look like Godzilla.]

[Pretty? Well, that was reassuring to know, and if she had said it to his dragon self directly he no doubt would have swelled a little with pride. He wasn't especially vain, but he did enjoy praise.]

Should you think that of me then I will certainly be more at ease. Humans in my world are beginning not to recognise us Spirits or the forms we more usually take. They see us as monsters and nothing more...

Well, there's probably scary stories about dragons if they think like that. The only things I see as monsters are the things that come from Hell...

[She was tormented with them.]

...Hell? Ah, yes... I suppose if you came from 'Heaven' then 'Hell' must also exist. It is true that many people in Aether are not tolerant of dragons, though it depends on where they are from. I am... different to most, however. I do not resemble the other species found there.

[He pauses before asking with some hesitation.]

These monsters from Hell... you have come across them before?

...There's different kinds of dragons? How do you look different from the other ones?

A demon used to toment me with the little ones...

All shapes, sizes and colours. The Kingdom of Agkelos alone has several species present, from the large Silver Dragons to the small bird-like Skyverns. My form gleams white and gold and is lithe and swift as the wind. There is no other who matches my radiance.

[One would think he was boasting about his appearance. He was prideful of it, but really the words come matter-of-factly. He spoke the truth.

You must really like being a dragon then.

[She can kinda relate. Her small form is pretty useless, and she knows she can be much prettier when she's bigger.]
