[Whoever's watching the feed right now can probably tell that something's not quite right. Not only does Eley look blackened and sore as if he had been scorched somehow, but the tree behind him also looks as though it has met a similar fate, with shattered branches and charred bark.
And in his hands, he's holding some remnant of what might have been a scarf at one time, though right now it looks like nothing more than a rag.]
Why would anyone do this? How could they... enjoy such a thing?
[He sounds tired, disappointed, though that quickly turns to bitter anger.]
Edmundo the Blade has made an enemy of me. He has shown nothing but disrespect. I should not have let him get this far. If only I was not so complacent, so tied to the path of peace, this would not have happened. My tree...
[Yes, he's more concerned about the tree than he is about himself right now.]
If anyone knows a way to repair the damage, I would be grateful to you.

[Yes, he's more concerned about the tree than he is about himself right now.]
If anyone knows a way to repair the damage, I would be grateful to you.

[action]
I am glad to hear that it will not be fruitless to attempt to save it then. Even if you can only help it along, you will have my gratitude.
[Though naturally he hoped it would not take too long to regrow in that case. He hated to see it likes this, a constant reminder of his failure and the violent actions of that man.]
[action]
In any case she nods, falling to silence as she begins. She brought the unicorn with her to give her a boost to her energy, to call upon the tree's will to live - but it's not that power she works with right now. It's a soft glow of earth power, that sinks deep to ensure the state of the routes, a slow glow that envelopes the tree itself. In a way the magic seems to turn back time, to recover the state that was lost- it heals, but it can't enhance the growth in any way. Only support it, strengthen it - the minutes pass.]
[action]
Watching the glow spread over the tree, he couldn't hope to understand exactly what was happening within it. Many didn't understand his own kind and called their powers 'magic', but to Eley, this was just as alien to him as his power was to the humans. It was beautiful to watch though, and drew his thoughts away from his own pain.]
[action]
Then the glow outlining the tree seems to fade, or sink in.]
[action]
He doesn't want to burden Raine any more than he already felt he had, so he decides to ignore his failure.]
Such powerful magic is almost akin to that of the Spirit Erimia from my home. I am glad I could rely on you to help in this way. You have my thanks... and my respect.
[action]
You're quite welcome. But now, will you allow me to tend to your wounds as well?
[action]
[In Eley's mind she had already done enough for him. He was fine allowing his wounds to heal over time. He wasn't going to say no either though. If she wished to help him, he would accept.]
[action]
[action]
[Assuming this human body didn't succumb to infection anyway, but he didn't think about that. It didn't occur to him that it was even possible.]
But thank you for your aid. With your help, I will be in good health far more quickly than if I relied on myself.
[action]
[action]
[Maybe he should take the advice of others in that case. They knew more about how to heal than he did after all.]
Your kindness will earn my respect.
[action]
But she is a skilled healer, and soon the glow of magic springs forward, settling on him and gauging the injuries.]
[action]
It was soothing though and appeared to be working. The soreness in his body lifted as the magic got to work and he began to feel more energized.]
[action]
Eventually the outpouring of energy slows, as she once again carefully looks him over.]
There... that should be all of it, though I advise you to get yourself indoors so you can have some rest.
[action]
The Spirit pushes himself to his feet again, feeling rather stronger than before and far more healthy.]
I will accept your advice. Although... if you do not mind me asking... where did you learn magic like that?
[action]
[action]
[He'd heard of many people learning and practicing magic, but he's not sure about those who had always had the capability for it.]
Yes... it seems that many people have learned from those spirits. I wonder if perhaps I should try to broaden my own powers in that way.
[action]
As for myself... [It's always easier to relate this to non-humans, though she still has her reservations-] the ability to use magic is innate for those who have elven blood. There are some rarities among those who haven't, but there isn't enough supporting research as to why.
[action]
[Elven blood though... Eley hadn't yet realised that Raine may not be entirely human. Not that it bothered him at all, of course. He gives a nod.]
Then you have elven blood yourself? Interesting... I had not yet met anyone possessing such a thing.
[action]
As for the spirits... it's been implied that they have a strong bond to the land in this enclosure, even if they aren't native to this world.
