[Self-inflicted humour... that was something he hadn't really thought about. He was sure he had grown embarrassed in certain situations but he couldn't remember ever finding anything funny about what he had done, or failed to do.]

I see. I have heard many times that humans strive towards happiness. I suppose it really does not matter how they achieve it in the end.
