[Eley didn't seem to need the essentials to survive, that much he'd learned. He could eat, drink and sleep just fine, but it didn't seem to have any adverse affect on him if he went without. Warmth on the other hand did seem a tad more necessary in his human form. While his own spiritual essence was capable of keeping this body going, Eley had found that he was not resistant to disease. Sure, he healed quickly when injured, but sickness was something else altogether.

And today? He was certainly feeling it. It wasn't the first time the weather had gotten to him but it looked like he hadn't learned his lesson just yet. The Spirit was standing by the window, though he was shivering noticeably and appeared tired and dull. The sniffling was a bit of a giveaway too...

He turns to the boy, looking rather sorry for himself.]

So it seems. Am I correct in thinking that this is... a cold?

Hmmmm. [ He drags it out, folding up his arms with a tilted head and then letting them fall to his sides again. ] I think so. People get them this time of year.

[ And that one guy had one before this. But anyhow. ]

Should Spirits be able to get sick?

Ordinarily no... but this body was given to me by the Malnosso, so is not entirely my own.

[One second, Spirit sneeze incoming! There, that's better.]

Ah... it seems in this body I am susceptible to such things. I am not used to having to protect myself from the elements...

[He feels kind of embarrassed that this has happened again, in fact, particularly after Jane's warning last time he'd been found sick. Now he was just burderning his friend once again.]

[ No good, no good, but at least it made sense. ]

Then we've got to make sure you do. [ Yep, it's decided. ] But today, let's help you get through a cold.

[ And what could they get? He hums a little to himself, thinking over necessities - warmer clothes, seeing what foods there are and if there's any medicines... and then there's a small 'oh!' before he turns back to Eley, beginning to turn a little in his thoughts. ]

Right, I know a spell that'll help. Sit down and I'll cast it.

[Eley watches as Red becomes lost in thought. Evidently he was trying to make some important decisions regarding his illness... What he wasn't expecting was the boy to turn to magic. He'd had technology used on him before and knew of medicines, but never magic.

Did... Red really know how to use such a thing? He was still young and likely inexperienced... besides, would it even work in this new environment? The Spirit seems hesitant at first, but walks over to the bed and takes a seat. He supposed there was only one way to find out.]

Are you certain this will work...?

I've tried it once. [ Red follows, standing before Eley. ] It worked okay, but it doesn't fix the cold - it's just supposed to make it easier to deal with. You'll still have be sick. [ Or he'd guess!

He lifts up his hands before himself, then shrugs. ] It's not going to work as well as it did then, but even if it helps a little, isn't that what matters? I'll ask my friends if they know anything that'll help with a cold too.

[Well... he was right. If it could make him feel any better at all then surely it was worth a try. If nothing changed... then at least they knew that such spells were useless in this time.

Though the Spirit doesn't look particularly happy that he'll have to remain sick, he is eager to feel better so he gives a nod of approval.]

Thank you... but please do not push yourself on my behalf. I am sure I will recover in time.

[ He hums a little with amusement - really, Eley did worry a lot. ]

Okay, just sit and breath as normal. But don't cough on me if you need to cough! Just turn your head!

[ It's said jokingly, and with that Red readies a hand in front of the air between himself and Eley. He closes his eyes, breathing in, out, and with a simple motion of his hand and a thought that isn't heard, an energy begins to exude from his hand, and he hovers the palm closer to Eley's face.

He doesn't keep his eyes closed, opening them so he can keep track of if the Spirit moves, drifting the hand from in front of his head to down to his chest and throat, lingering over the areas and doing this for some minutes before he returns his hand back down. ]

Anything?

[It's a sign of his fondness for you, Red!

Eley does as the boy says though, trying to just relax and breathe as normal (which was awkward when his nose felt full of cold). He follows Red's hand as he moves it, sensing that energy despite it's faintness. It certainly didn't feel particularly powerful but by the time he's done, Eley beieves he does feel a little better.

He takes a deep breath.]

A little... I feel as though it is somewhat easier to breathe.

[But as if the cold wants to remind them it's still there, Eley finds himself sneezing again, turning his head away so as not to infect his poor friend.]

Ah but... you are right. I am still unwell...

Do you want to eat anything? I can make you a cup of tea - hot drinks help - and then I can see if any of the cans I brought were soup. Or I can try making some! But what you nee to is plenty of rest, so don't go out unless you really have to, okay? I can get everything.

Hmm, I do enjoy tea.

[Ever since he had shared it with Spock when he was still around, he had gotten a taste for it. He really should use that tea set sometime in his honour.]

I do not require food or drink, but if you feel that this 'soup' would also help, then I would be willing to try it...

[And at that, he curls up on the bed, because what is going to bed properly. Eley never liked being cooped up but somehow he got the impression that Red wouldn't let him leave, even if he tried.]

I will... try to keep myself occupied in here then. I do not usually stay inside for long periods of time. It makes me feel... caged.

I know, being sick is the worst. You can't do anything and it's really boring.

[ He might've been moving to leave, but he walks back over to the bed, to pick at the side of the blankets - much tidier than his own bed, though who knew how long that would be the case with their neat freak company Karis - to nudge them up. ]

Here, you wanna get under this one. But not the other one; that's the bed sheet. [ Because Red's going to take a guess that Eley might not be all that involved with beds with that tree of his. The wind spirit might need to shift around to get under, but Red will help to get them over him. ]

We'll try and get you better as soon as possible, and then you can spend every day outside again. We'll go out when it gets sunny too, it won't be so bad on those days. But sometimes, you've got to do the stuff you don't want to because it's for the best.
