[ Training at the battle dome was an every day necessity for Red, like getting breakfast or going to sleep. Well, when it wasn't so busy, but it was worth the wait for the training that could be gotten from inside with the simulations.

He goes to the building with a full bag, Pikachu skipping on forward as always and jumping up onto the control panel carefully, checking out the room numbers that were free. Apparently there was one free Red saw when Pikachu gave the news with a chirp; it didn't look like anything had been set for it.

But while the door hasn't been locked down, Red can hear something as he focuses onto it. He blinks; usually the rooms all keep the sound in pretty well, so hearing anything other than themselves isn't usual.

So he goes up to the door, slowly opening it and peeking his head in. Heelllooo....? ]

[Eley wasn't exactly well practiced with technology - far from it in fact - and he didn't tend to use the Battledome with any degree of frequency. Things had changed however, when the Wind Spirit had failed to protect both himself and the things precious to him from an aggressive foe. He'd since decided that he would train with a weapon and gain more skills that would allow him to defend himself as well as his friends.

...of course, not really knowing much about technology means that he hasn't exactly set anything up for the room he's in, nor has he bothered closing it off to anyone else who might find him there. As Red peeks in, he'll find Eley alone, swinging a long forked weapon, a sasumata, which had been forged by Isaac of all people, using part of his own dragon horn as a material. Due to the nature of it, he'd hoped it would serve to amplify his abilities out in the field, should the environment allow for it. For now, he practices swinging and stabbing without losing balance, as well as adding his own power of wind to each motion.

And it just so happens that when he finishes his next action, he's jabbing straight at Red, sending a gust of wind spiralling straight towards him, oops.]

[ Woah dude, cool weapon--

That Red has no idea what it is. He stands wondering for a second who it is - they look familiar, - but as they turn and the realisation that it's Eley hits Red --

so does the wind come smacking him.

He's at least not totally peeking in, but either way he goes from standing by the doorway to the door pushing open and Red falling down onto the ground. It's only Pikachu that gets a graceful landing out of the way, then squeaking in worry and confusion.

But Red's okay, Red's okay! Other than dazed, with the control console right above his head. Thank goodness he didn't knock into that. ]

[Eley realises his mistake immediately as he sees the gust of wind heading straight for the boy. Concerned for him, he hurries over to Red to make sure he was okay... and offers a hand to help him up when he sees he's doesn't seem to be too hurt. He turns to Pikachu as well to make sure he hadn't damaged him in any way, but luckily he seems unscathed.]

Forgive me, I did not expect anyone to be watching... are you hurt?

[ Pikachu is completely fine, though concerned for Red. But fortunately, there's nothing to worry about other than his blinking and initial silence. Even when Eley comes out and offers the hand, he's still trying to register what it was that just happened. A thrusting weapon, then a blast of wind.

But he does take the offered hand while he's taking it all in, getting up. ]

I'm fine... [ Okay, let him shake his head a little and then finally look at Eley. ]

...That was cool! Did your weapon do that or you?

[ Eleyyy that was A W E S O M E looking!!! ]

[He was glad that Red and Pikachu were fine, though his next words take him by surprise. Honestly, he wasn't expecting the praise. He'd looked... cool?]

I used my own abilities and channeled it through the weapon. Still... I am only a beginner at using any weapon at all. I am sure I was not wielding it with any great skill...

[As proud as he'd like to feel in the presence of someone who liked what they saw, he can't really feel that way knowing that there were far better fighters out there, Spirit or not. Then again, that wasn't what he was fighting for really. As long as he could protect, that was what was important.]

Ah, did you wish to use this room? I am afraid I do not know how to work the simulator by myself so I simply came here as I am.

Oh, no! [ Well, he did want a room, but if Eley was practising and didn't know how to actually use the room- ] Do you want me to show you how to? I can bring up targets if you wanted. But, I only know how to bring up pokémon.

[ But at least he knew how to bring up pokémon really good. Even after he says it, he turns around to walk to the front of the control panel. ]

I can bring up a nice location too. I can show you somewhere from home.

Pokemon? But... Pokemon are the creatures that you travel with, yes? Why would you want to make them targets?

[He assumed they were friends, they certainly acted like it. To conjure up more of them, whether it was real or not, sounded almost cruel to him. Wouldn't Pikachu mind seeing his fellow Pokemon being attacked?

...Eley obviously has a lot to learn about how Red's world works.]

I would like to see somewhere from your home, however. I have not seen much outside of my own world and Luceti.

[ Oh -- it's a bit confusing to hear at first. But it must sound odd. Ah, how to explain? He's not sure what Eley's world is like, being a spirit... ]

Well, sure, Pikachu and Venusaur and Snorlax are my friends -- but pokémon are wild. They'll attack you too. And fighting pokémon is how you make your team stronger.

[ Does that make sense? Maybe... ]

Does your world have creatures like that? Some pokémon are friendly, but not all of them. That's how it is in my world.

[Eley gives it some thought.]

Well, yes there are many wild animals in my own world and some are naturally more aggressive than others. Some species have become pets and companions for humans as well. Perhaps this is not so different.

[Just because he had never set eyes on such strange creatures himself, didn't mean they couldn't just be parallels of Aether's own fauna.

Something else stands out to him though.]

What exactly do you mean by a 'team'? Do your Pokemon take part in some kind of sport?

Kinda! [ You could definitely call it a sport! ] We're a team because we work together -- but yeah. I'll tell you about it, but is there anything you think you'd like to train against? There's fire pokémon, water, flying, fast or slow...

[ Just so he can know what to select on this machine! ]

[Sometimes doing was the best way to learn. He was sure it would all make sense to him once they get going!

Though now he was asking about 'types'?]

Hmm, what would you recommend as a suitable target for someone who can wield the wind? I would imagine flying Pokemon would have no trouble evading or indeed, using, my attacks against me.

Umm... [ Geez, uh. He tips his head. ] Is that good? [ He looks over to Eley. ] You said you're a beginner at using a weapon, so a grounded target would be better, wouldn't it?

[Eley gives a nod.] I believe so, yes. Perhaps something slower moving would also be better for now as well. I need to practice my strokes to ensure I do not cause too much harm to my opponent...

[It looked like it would be quite easy to cause an accident with the prongs on his weapon. but Eley was fighting to disable, rather than kill.]

[ So, something slow and grounded that wouldn't be easily harmed... aha! ]

I think I got it! [ Just let him dook dook dook tap tap on the console for a second, theeeeeen....! ]

OK! This one pokémon isn't strong against air-based attacks which yours would be like - but they've got a body like a human, and they can take a lot. C'mon, let's get ready.

[ Follow Red back towards where his pokémon are! ]

[Eley watches intently as Red punches in the commands, despite failing to understand exactly how the machinery worked. It seems his target has been set however, so it was time to prepare for battle! He nods in acknowledgement as he follows the boy back to his waiting Pokemon and takes his position, clutching his sasumata in both hands and holding the forked end in front of him.]

Very well. I am ready to give it a try.

[Hopefully whatever it is won't be too challenging. Given the variety of Red's own Pokemon, he's not quite sure what to expect. A human shaped Pokemon? Hmm...]

[ Well, or just where Pikachu is, since he doesn't have much interest in watching them play around at the panel ~~too many battle dome threads with all the pokémon~~. Inside at the other side of the room, a blue-ish creature has appeared. He appears small, around the same height as Red is - which becomes obvious as Eley and the boy get more of a better view of the pokémon - but with much, much more muscle than the kid.

Red stops without getting too close; it's not going to be his battle after all. ] This is a machoke. They're a fighting-type -- what do you think? They have an evolution before this, but it'll probably be too easy for a spirit like you.

[ Because being a spirit is like being super amazing right. ]

[~~Use ALL THE POKEMON Red.~~ Eley continues to brace himself as the Battledome generates a strange animal, muscular like a man but with the face of something almost reptilian. It was almost amusing to see that it was the same size as Red, despite the apparent strength of it. Somehow, he expected something with such a powerful shape to be... more imposing.

Any any case, this was his target now! Time to focus, Eley. Or at least he would but Red's comment catches him off guard a little. No pressure.]

Then it is in a stronger form than it once was... You may be placing too much faith in my ability to fight, Red, but I will try to live up to your words.

[And so the Spirit springs into action, using the length of his weapon to keep the Machoke a safe distance away, or so he hoped. Eley leaps high into the air with the help of a gust of wind and aims the fork down towards the Pokemon in the hope of pinning him down.]

[ Red had another reason for picking a machoke over a machop, but now wasn't the time to get into that. The moment Eley proceeds to attack, the battle officially begins.

Machoke raises up its arms as the spirit leaps towards it, readying its feet so that when the forked weapon comes down, its back leg only stutters and bends slightly at the added weight -- and it holds Eley upward by his weapon, despite the scrapes the fork gave to its arms.

And if Eley doesn't do something quick, it'll chuck him back and onto the ground with his weapon! ]

[Somehow Eley didn't expect such a small target to be so... strong and at this point he was certainly caught off guard. He knew he had to try and break free, there was no way he could wrestle with this thing on his own. But what to do?

Well it wasn't supposed to be strong against air-based attacks, right? Almost by instinct, the Spirit throws out one hand as the Machoke grips onto his weapon and sends a powerful blast of air directly towards its eyes, hoping to blind it for a moment and get it to let go.]

[ Machoke reacts to the blast to its face, growling in surprise and shaking its head with scrunched up eyes. Still, that doesn't stop it from throwing the weapon towards a direction -- but fortunately, due to the distraction the attack caused, it's not as strong of a throw as it could be.

It wipes its face with an arm afterwards, but it's not going to be out so early! It takes in a deep breathing, focusing itself, then charges over towards Eley to swipe out its hands in karate chops should it get close enough! ]

[It still didn't falter? Eley's surprised at Machoke's apparent strength even despite the distraction, but luckily his throw isn't strong enough to send the Spirit hurtling into anything solid and he manages to cling to the weapon and right himself with a quick blast of air.

Landing on his feet, Eley watches Machoke once more, the sasumata held out in front of him. What was it going to do next? His own alert gaze is met with a far more focused opponent and suddenly the creature was charging straight towards him and attempting to take him out with a couple of swift chops of the hands!

Seeing an opportunity to test the sasumata's ability to deflect an opponent's attacks, Eley tries his best to knock away Machoke's strikes as he catches him with the forked end. He keeps it up to a certain extent but ends up pacing backwards with each blow until he finds himself pinned against the wall. Physical strength is definitely not something Eley possesses in this form.]

Red! I need some assistance!

[He calls to the boy.]

Machoke!

[ Really, Red doesn't even need to call. Despite what its appearance may say, machokes are usually a modest line: not aggressive, and not willing to beat on an opponent with such a disadvantage in the battle unless it was necessary or the rules of a challenge.

The machoke stops, an arm outstretched before Eley. It keeps paused like that for a second, before lowering it and backing it off with a few steps backwards and then bowing its head to its opponent. Red walks forward, but Pikachu reaches Eley first as he goes up to his leg. You okay buddy? ]

Sorry, is it too much? Do you want machoke to go easier?

[It's actually rather surprising to Eley that the creature who had been attacking him moments ago has suddenly become docile and even shows civility and respect towards him. Obviously this wasn't just a feral animal. The Spirit hesitantly gives a bow of his own to show that there was nothing bad between them and turns to Red, a little out of breath.]

I am not sure if I am physically capable of holding off such a strong opponent... I must increase my endurance and strength steadily. Perhaps we need to start with something easier.

[Honestly he's a bit embarrassed to admit it, but he can't rely on his dragon form all the time. If he found himself in a confined space for instance, he'd need these skills to have a chance of defending himself.]

[ Red stands there thinking, a knuckle resting on his bottom lip. Eley didn't seem completely without some skill in that scenario, at least with how he controlled his wind and then moved up in the air.

He lowers his hand, hitting it soundlessly against the palm of the other. ]

How about instead of the both of you trying to fight, why don't you try and fight machoke and get through its defences? Machoke are strong, and you probably won't get to surprise it on the first go if you're a beginner, but that's going to be useful. For now... forget that it's weak against flying types, and focus on the way you move, and how to attack. [ nodding! ] I think that since you use wind, you should see how you can move while you're attacking. Actually, how well can you get around on the ground? Can you skid?

[ To try and show what he moves, Red leans to a side, knees slightly bent. ] You know -- like move fast on the spot from one location to the next?
