winds_voice | [LUCETI] APPOINTMENTS

[Eley was no stranger to visitors up at his tree, though usually they were friends of his or people he knew of at least. This time he was aware of a small group travelling in his direction... a few of which didn't appear to be human. While his Willow Tree didn't show its true magic yet, being still young and not quite the right time for it to bloom, it stood out against a backdrop of Cherry Blossom trees some distance behind it. A lone tree and home to a lone figure.

As they came closer, it was the sweet smell of flowers that caught his attention. Though flowers grew beneath his home, this scent was far stronger and oddly soothing as well. The Spirit stood and came closer to the travellers and called to them.]

Excuse me. That smell... is it perhaps coming from one of you?

[One of the creatures did seem to have a large flower on its back after all.]

[With spring, the sight of the upcoming blooming trees wasn't such an odd picture. Yet Red didn't take notice of the tree until he heard the voice speaking, turning his head to look at the person. Somebody he didn't know, though that wasn't a bad thing.]

Oh.... yeah! The flower smell? [He looks down to Ivysaur who is still looking curiously towards Eley.] That's my ivysaur -- my pokémon, Saur. [A smile grows on his face.] She's in season.

["In season" was an interesting term for it. Eley comes a little closer to Saur and bends down to take a closer look.]

I have never seen a creature who is both plant and animal. She is a... Pokemon?

[He's sure he's seen or at least heard about similar creatures in Luceti, but he'd never really stopped to ask about them. He stands upright again now, gesturing to the Pikachu and Snorlax.]

And I suppose these are also known as 'Pokemon'? They are so... different to one another. No creature on Aether resembles anything like them.

[It's Spring, it's pollen season. Makes sense to Red! Saur doesn't mind the approaching person- she's rather used to being looked at, and though a meeting with one man did make her uncomfortable for a while at the reaction of others to herself, it had been a while. And this person certainly wasn't being the same as that other.]

That's right! Ivysaur are the second form of a bulbasaur. They're known as seed pokémon.

[Pikachu decides to scamper up Red's arm since they're stopping to talk for a while. Red chuckles a little.]

Everything here's really different too. Everyone has cool and different animals where they're from too, and people all have strange and cool powers too. [...] Do all of the ones in your world look the same? The creatures?

A second form? Then they are capable of shapeshifting?

[In his head, he imagined them to be rather like his own kind and able to change shape at will, though the use of a number suggested these forms were limited...

Eley watches as Pikachu climbs up, tilting his head at the animal and finding himself tempted to touch. He reaches out as he answers in an attempt to pet him between the ears.]

I suppose it would be wrong of me to say that all the animals in my world are the same. But you are right that there are yet more differences to creatures, powers, cultures alike between the people in Luceti. I am a Wind Spirit myself.

It's not really shapeshifting... there's a pokémon that can shapeshift, but what I'm talking about is called evolution. It's like growing up for pokémon, and usually they get bigger, too.

[Fortunately for Eley, Pikachu is a jolly type and not mindful of a stranger's touch (and really, a lot of kids back in their own world would want to do it in the cities). His head even moves down into the touch, to give better access.

Red's eyes do widen for a moment though, when Eley says what he is.]

Really!? So you're like Saori? [Do they know each other?] She calls herself a storm god-- or, she does summer storms? I read a little about them; people worship them and they're meant to do favours if they're pleased, but they'll cause disasters if they're upset. Are you like that?

Evolution... hmm.

[He ponders over that while he continues to pet PIkachu's head. He seems to be enjoying it anyway! But evolution, wasn't that what happened to creatures over time? Or so they said back in Aether. He had lived long enough to see the changes in the world, but he had never really put a name to it until fairly recently.

'Growing up' however implied it was more like an adult form of the same animal. He had to wonder how different they became then. The Ivysaur at least seemed to show a natural progression with her flowering bulb.

And then he mentioned Saori and that roused him from his thoughts.]

Ah, Saori, yes. We are similar, though we have discovered many differences about each other at the same time. In my world I am responsible for taking care of the skies and keeping the air flowing. I can also bring forth storms by gathering clouds. While I am not inherently a god, humans in my world began to worship me and my kind many years ago. We became their idols and we did build up a similar relationship with them.

[He pauses, his hand pausing on Pikachu's head as he seems to reflect on his thoughts.]

Lately, faith in our kind on Aether has been dwindling though. While we can still fulfill our purpose, we have grown weaker and our voices are no longer always heard.

[ Not a god, but still a being that could do things with powers of his own. Some of it did sound the same as Saori though - well, maybe just the part about storms there.

But, ah- dwindling faith? ]

So you can't talk there like you can here? Or, it's really hard?
