[LUCETI] APPOINTMENTS
If you want to get hold of Eleytheria without writing out a post or log then this is the place to do it. This post can also be used to finish off conversations if you like.

[Action]
[Spock presses a few buttons by the door, and the room changes to resemble that of a traditional Japanese Dojo.
It suited their needs.
Spock stood in the middle of the floor and gestured for Eley to join him.]
The first set of defensive maneuvers I will teach you involve ways to escape a situation in which you have been caught by an assailant.
[Action]
I am ready to learn. What should I do to prepare myself?
Re: [Action]
Spock then starts to pace the mat with his hands behind his back... ever looking the teacher.]
There are many self defense moves that can be used when an individual is attacking you. One fact to keep in mind however, is that most people panic while under attack. In such a case, people tend to forget to use the self defense moves they have learned. A better way to defend yourself when caught in a situation where you are being bodily harmed, is to hit the weak points of the attacker which are exposed.
The weak points of most humanoids are [Spock gestures to points on his own body for reference...] the instep, knees, coccyx, kidneys, solar plexus, throat, eyes, ears and temple. For more advanced defense moves, you can incorporate putting pressure on different nerves in order to render a being incapacitated... however, a strike to any of these areas will do significant damage and should give you enough time to get away.
[Spock steps closer to Eley...] Shall we attempt a scenario?
[Action]
He seems interested in learning about this method of incapacitation. A way of deflecting danger without killing his assailant... yes, this seemed like a good way forward for him. He steels himself, ready for whatever Spock will instruct him to do next.]
All right. A scenario. You have my attention.
Re: [Action]
In a situation when the attacker holds you from behind, take your right foot, cup it behind the attackers right leg and pull it forward.
[Spock waits for a moment....] Try this slowly to get used to the movement... and do not worry about hurting me.
This defense move, ideally, will make the assailant fall backwards.
[Action]
Taking note of his instructions, Eley slowly moves his foot back behind Spock's right leg and applies pressure to the back of it, moving forward. Of course, since he's only getting used to things it has little impact, but after he's tested it a few times, he tries it with a more powerful sweep to see if it has the desired effect. Not being the strongest of physical beings however, it wouldn't be surprising if he wasn't particularly good at this... but any result would please him!]
Re: [Action]
Looking up from the mat, the Vulcan gives his approval.]
You are improving.
[Action]
Thank you. I feel that this will be useful to me in the future.
Re: [Action]
Shall we try a frontal attack at this time?
[Action]
Yes, let us continue.
Re: [Action]
This is a common frontal attack, wherein your attacker attempts to punch you.. [Spock lifts his other hand in a fist...]
Immediately trap the grabbing hand, clutching it firmly against your chest with both hands.
Step back slightly with your left leg... this forces the assailant's arm to extend and gets you out of reach. At the same moment your left leg touches the ground, you twist your upper body toward the left and look down and to your left. The attacker's left arm is now stretched completely out and his elbow is either facing you or facing straight up. You can now release your right hand and swing it in a counter-clockwise motion over the top of the attacker's grabbing arm and easily escape harm...
At this point you may choose to run.. however, if you are unable to do so you can twist further toward your left and torquing the attackers left wrist, elbow and shoulder, locking the joints. In this position, your attacker finds themselves even further extended and off balance. You can now simply raise your right elbow with the assailant's hands still clutching tightly against your chest, and place it against the back of the attacker's extended left arm... torque left slightly, which causes your elbow to injure or break the elbow of the grabbing arm, or more commonly, they will usually completely lose balance and fall to the ground.
[Spock again leads Eley through the motions, pointing out where he must adjust his stance....]
[Action]
He'll still follow through though, at least paying attention to those parts that won't result in injury. Unless of course he *had* to use them for his own survival, that was the idea here. It takes him longer to get the hang of everything this time and remember all the steps and movements, though he listens well to his instructor's advice and adjusts himself accordingly.
This step might take more practice... but he's learning, he's sure of that.]
Re: [Action]
You are doing very well Mister Eleytheria. Though I believe that is enough for one day... overstimulating unused muscles is not wise.
Do you have any questions at this time?
