9 - [Voice]
[There's an awkward silence at first as if the speaker is finding this rather difficult to say... or doesn't know quite what to say in the first place. But though hesitant, his voice soon comes.]
I... would like to apologise for any embarrassment caused during the recent holiday. This was my first experience with such an event and... I was not prepared for what might happen.
[Another pause.]
That is not the only reason I have chosen to speak today however. There are two other matters I would like to address.
Firstly, I have learned more about what humans call 'birthdays' over the past few weeks. Is this celebrated by all humans? Perhaps even non-humans? Why celebrate another year passing when it only means you are being brought closer to death? Why is this such a... joyous occasion?
Secondly, I have found myself growing idle in Luceti and have realised that the time has come for me to offer some assistance to those living within the enclosure. I may not be able to fulfill my original purpose here, but... I need to make myself useful. If I do not then I may not stay here for much longer. Unless of course, this body will keep me trapped. It would be an empty and meaningless existence.
I cannot offer much in the way of strength but I would be willing to learn new skills, within reason. If my power to manipulate wind would be of any use to you then that is something I can do as well. If anyone has any suggestions... I would like to hear from you.

[Voice]
Part of my duty as a deity is to listen to my people when they have concerns. I will listen if you wish to speak.
Re: [Voice]
Not over the journals... Would you be amenable to meeting me at my place of residence?
[Voice] --> [Action]
Of course. I will make my way there now. I will be there shortly.
[With that the Spirit will end the feed and head over to where Spock was currently living, wondering exactly what this is about.]
[Action]
Please, come in. [Spock led him into the house... grateful that Jim was nowhere to be found.]
Tea?
[Action]
Please. Is... everything all right? [He can't help but feel a little concerned about Spock's recent request to speak with him.]
Re: [Action]
Negative... I may have made an irreparable mistake. I... I did something unforgivable to my Captain.
[Action]
[Well, this didn't sound like good news. He takes a seat nearby so he can listen while the tea is made.]
Whatever happened it may not spell the end. Especially if it was something that happened due to a Shift. Is... that true?
[Valentine's had been a strange time for most of them after all.]
Re: [Action]
He... we share a bond. But he is unaware of meaning.
During the shift... I...
I.... assaulted him in the kitchen.
[Action]
The Spirit was used to listening to confessions though. He would continue to hear him out.]
Why? What would cause you to lash out like that? You say there is a bond, what exactly do you mean by that?
Re: [Action]
It was... I...
I kissed him.
[Spock took great interest in the floor.]
[Action]
[Well. That was a different kind of confession altogether and Eley wasn't quite sure if he was the best person to advise Spock about such a thing. However he could try. He had learned a little about love since being here after all.
Namely from one person but still.]
I was told that to feel the need to kiss someone, at least when not influenced by something else, is a sign of love. Or at least a sign that love could develop. Would you suspect that? Am I right to assume that this desire was not reciprocated?
Re: [Action]
...but then... he pushed me away. I haven't talked to him since.
[Action]
If you hope to make amends with your Captain then... I encourage you to talk to him, no matter how hard it may seem. I cannot make the decision for you however. I cannot tell you exactly what to say either. If one of you does not make the first move, it is likely that things will not improve.
Re: [Action]
...dejected.
Talk about feelings? That was the last thing Spock wanted to do.]
I... I will take your advice into consideration. It is difficult for me to talk about such things....
[Understatement of the century there Spock.]
[Action]
I understand. I am not one to talk about such things myself, at least not on a personal level... I am sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear, but if this is important to you then the only way to find a solution is to confront the problem no matter how difficult it may seem.
Re: [Action]
[Spock placed his head in his hands.] What...what of yourself? Have you ever encountered anybody you were compatible with? [Way to ask someone if they've ever had a boyfriend or girlfriend Spock... we need to work on your language.]
[Action]
Ah... no. Before now I had little knowledge of how people came to be a couple, of what love meant or even about how the desire to be more... intimate came to pass. I still feel that I have a lot to learn.
Besides that... Spirits are not meant to be paired in such a way.
Re: [Action]
[Spock knew some of Eley's past... but it was limited to the kingdom and the people he took care of.
Did Eley not have anyone?]
[Action]
[Eley has to think about that. Lonely? He hadn't really thought about loneliness before. Perhaps that was one feeling that had evaded him for so long... or perhaps he simply didn't recognise it.
Family was another thing he had spoken to others about albeit briefly. What exactly defined a family? Blood ties or a strong bond between others? Or both?]
I have managed well enough. With my duties at home, I had not given much thought to how isolated I might seem. To fall in love and dote on someone would only prove a distraction, yes? My duties to the planet are more important.
As for family, I suppose you could argue that I have a brother and sister. Perhaps even a father in relation to my creator. However we rarely make contact and when we do it is... only regarding our work. None of us have spoken to our creator since the planet was first formed.
Re: [Action]
Vulcans are connected intimately through the mind... families share bonds, and there is a resonating connection with the rest of the race and the planet.
However... the strongest bond a Vulcan can achieve is one of.. T'hy'la. The one person that they were meant to be with. For humans, it could be interpreted as... soulmates.
[Spock shifts.] I apologise for burdening you with this information.
[Action]
[Eley had to wonder if he would ever come across an individual like that. He had made more friends than he ever thought he would in the past but... could he ever form a bond that close with someone?]
I was not aware that there was such a thing. It is certainly not a burden... it sounds like anyone finding a person they feel they are meant to be with is lucky considering how many are in the world. Even across worlds.
Re: [Action]
However, it is an ideal that is so embedded in Vulcan ideology that we know as soon as we come in contact with that one person.
But I do not think my Captain is ready for this level of commitment, to which I can completely understand. I tried to keep it secret from him... until the 'accident' on Valentines.
[Action]
May I ask what you would do if your Captain decided he could never make such a commitment?
Re: [Action]
[Spock closed his eyes for a moment, dreading the very thought.]
I would make sure that he would not suffer because of the bond ever again... then I would continue to carry it like the treasure that it is...for the rest of my life.
I would continue to be his friend.
[Action]
It would hurt you a great deal would it not? Would it not be wiser to try to separate yourself from him so that you are not reminded of what can never come to be?
